An ever-evolving story

The D’Alessandro family, renowned winemakers, has been operating in the wine sector since the early 1900s, thanks to the efforts of their patriarch, Natale D’Alessandro. He sold locally the wine produced from the grapes harvested in his vineyards.

A significant turning point occurred in 1953 when Giovanni, the son of Natale, decided to expand his father’s business by building a true industrial facility in the current center of Conversano. Here, he continued to process raw materials to resell them in the local market. The wine resale business of D’Alessandro developed vigorously, prompting the entrepreneur to purchase additional raw materials for processing.

In 1981, Natalino D’Alessandro, Giovanni’s son, took full control of the winery’s management and expanded wholesale distribution, turning the D’Alessandro winery into a key reference point for bottlers in Central and Northern Italy. In this way, Puglia continued to be seen as an essential supply reservoir for their operations.

In 1997, following significant changes in the wine market, D’Alessandro decided to begin bottling operations, which continued in the subsequent years, leading to the launch of a complete range of wines in 2002. The first bottles of fine wine were created, all united by a deep connection to the territory.

Currently, the company is managed by the fourth generation – Giovanni, Angela, and Arianna – and boasts 55 hectares of vineyards, all featuring indigenous varieties such as Primitivo, Negroamaro, Uva di Troia, Verdeca, Malvasia, and Fiano, showcasing a strong bond with their land. In the new winery, inaugurated on December 7, 2017, the young D’Alessandros have also begun to venture into wine tourism, organizing wine tastings and winery tours to share their passion with wine enthusiasts.
